Coffee is a Performance Enhancer
I kind of thought that since I drink 2-4 cups a day, I wouldn’t be affected the same in terms of athletic performance, but apparently I was wrong. Regular drinkers of coffee still receive a performance enhancement.
The beneficial effects on exercise, though, remain. Even if you are a regular coffee drinker, if you have a cup of coffee before a workout or a race, you will do better, Dr. Tarnopolsky said. “There is no question about it,” he added.
