Tyler Brule gets profiled in New York Magazine, so of course I’m going to read/write about it. Reading the part about Monocle TV got me excited — it’s being compared to my two favorite shows.

It’s a weekly hour of what Brûlé describes as “gentle, good, informative viewing” not unlike old episodes of 60 Minutes or even CBS’s retro Sunday Morning. The show will feature magazine-style reports from Monocle’s correspondents that are unhurried in tone.

I was stoked last night to see Michael Lewis talk about his book, The Big Short, on 60 Minutes last night. Even better was getting to hear Dr. Mike Burry talk about his experience. Not a lot of new information if you read the Vanity Fair article, but still very interesting.

Every Sunday evening you can count on me watching 60 minutes. It’s a great show and recently I’ve realized that my favorite interviewer, Morley Safer, is one stylish dude. He routinely puts together some of the best shirt and tie (and pocket square) combinations.
