This is mostly to remind myself that it’s worth the money to get your clothing tailored. Check out the difference of the suit prior to the tailoring. It’s such a difference.
A man should look as if he had bought his clothes with intelligence, put them on with care, and then forgotten all about them.
Now I want a blue/white micro-striped shirt monogrammed. I’m thinking I’ll take a club collar, slim fit with a single barrel button cuff. Really wishing I could see the collar of the shirt.
One thing for certain is that monogram is boss. That makes the shirt. The placement, style and color. Typically I’d opt for “JPP”, but the two initials is where I’ll go should I recreate this shirt.
It appears that Ryan Moore is wearing golf shoes from True Linkswear. In a trend of his that puts his performance right in line with his earnings, Moore purchased a portion of True Linkswear to promote and wear the brand (one he believes in). The shoes look great. I had been curious about the shoes myself. In fact, when I was at the Memorial a couple of weeks ago, I picked up a pair of the ECCO Street Premier (brown).
I should note here that the other brand Moore has a “deal” with is Scratch Golf. I’ve had a Scratch Golf wedge in my bag for the last 6 years and love it. So, I can deduce that Moore has good taste.
Here is my (soon-to-be) new summer shoe: natural canvas chucks with leather laces.
Liquid Flow sent me some Buzios shorts to review. A hybrid short and swim trunk, Liquid Flow is focusing its products on water-based activities (think: sailing, lakes and swimming pools). I love utilitarian things, so these are perfect for me.
Now, let’s talk the pattern. The yell0w paisley appears to be rather loud. And, it is. But not that loud. I routinely find myself reaching for these shorts most weekends. They pair well with navy, white and grey.
Performance-wise I can’t complain either. I’ve worn this in and out of the water with no complaints. They worked great for a Memorial Day weekend on the water, allowing me to be carefree around the water. Easy to move in and comfortable to wear in the heat, I’m considering wearing these to golf in. It’s worth noting that if you’re concerned with your valuables in your pockets, Liquid Flow has you covered. Each pair of their shorts comes with an innovative waterproof pocket to store anything you’re concerned with getting wet.
Probably the best part of these is that they are so versatile. With pockets and belt loops like normal shorts, I am able to go about my business as normal. But, if the mood strikes me to take a dip in the lake, I can do so and not worry about my shorts taking hours to dry. And, in the heat of the summer the quick drying material is also rather breathable.
Bottom line: these are very versatile shorts. I wear mine all the time, even when not near water. I just need to get a Patagonia Tech Web Belt to wear with them.

I read Put This On for the obvious style advice and how well-stated they present it.
most men look great in a suit that fits, even a relatively inexpensive one
Related: I wore a Stafford suit for years (JC Penny) and got oodles of compliments on how great it looked. I swear it was because I took it to a tailor the day I bought it and had it pinched, hemmed and fit to my body.
It’s important to enjoy the clothes you wear. Many men are self-conscious about doing anything that might suggest they care about their appearance. Let go of that hangup! Have fun looking good. If you enjoy it without pretense, others will come along for the ride.
