I’ve always wondered this…why don’t guys in contention at The Masters think a little more about their shirt color? I have changed my tune from pale yellow to white. I think it’s classic and works well. Other options are yellow and pink. This year, the yellow shirt worked fine, but in the past, these golfers have just looked dumb with the blue, black and red shirts.

A while back I wrote for The Sand Trap. Although they don’t give me credit anymore, here is a write-up I did with the Pimento Cheese Sandwich that is famous at The Masters.

Pimento Cheese Sandwich

Makes 2 sandwiches

Ingredients

• 4 oz. extra-sharp Vermont white or yellow cheddar (1½ cups)
• 1.5 oz pimento – drained, finely chopped (¼ cup)
• 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
• ½ teaspoon hot pepper sauce
• Salt to taste
• 4 slices of good whole-wheat bread
• 4 thin slices Vidalia or other sweet onion (optional)
• 1 cup watercress sprigs – tough stems discarded (optional)

Preparation
Mash cheese pimento, mayonnaise and hot pepper sauce in small bowl with a fork until well combined. Season with salt to taste. Cover and chill 1 hour for flavors to blend. Spread pimento cheese evenly on bread. Top with onions and watercress sprigs (optional). Cut each sandwich and serve.
