Nomadic Life
I have a way that I filter through information on the web. You can find me sharing content across the web on various services. I’m thinking through something I plan to share at some point and will put my activity stream to text for some clarity.
I consider my activity stream to have four distinct functions: find, flow, file, and endorse (for now I’m ignoring the ‘find’ function). Now, a bit about each one.
Flow incorporates all the people I follow on Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram and Svpply. It also includes the news feeds on Facebook (and LinkedIn to some degree), as well as my RSS feeds I subscribe to. Basically, this is the channel where any and all content I consume on the web (outside of searches) is housed.
When I find something that intrigues me in my Flow, I File it. I file items in a number of services and in a number of different ways. I may read it later on Instapaper, star it in Google Reader or Twitter, like it on Facebook, Tumblr or Instagram, pin it on Pinterest or flag that I’m Reading it. The motivation behind this action varies; it could mean I plan to read it later, that I do like that post, support the content, remember something or file it for my own uses.
In many cases, I will Endorse a post I’ve filed. I do this by (re)blogging, (re)tweeting or posting to Tumblr, Wordpress/Blogger, Facebook, Twitter or Delicious. The behavior here is to share my ‘find’ with friends, family and the audience who likes my taste in things.
So, all of this creates my Activity Stream. It’s a complex workflow system to consider.

Scarlett Johansson on Those Nude Photos She Sent to Ryan Reynolds:
“I know my best angles,” she says with her trademark insouciance. “They were sent to my husband,” now ex Ryan Reynolds. “There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s not like I was shooting a porno.” She adds saucily, “Although there’s nothing wrong with that either.”
