Two DIY-able items here. First, the old cabinet door re-purposed as a serving tray. Second, the carafe wood stopper. The serving tray seems like an easy thing to do. The wood stopper may be a bit more difficult, but would be a nice touch to a wine carafe. Thinking I’ll be on the lookout for a piece of wood to carve and sand down.

I call it clothes hacking. Taking an old item of clothing and updating its look with some details (new buttons, a monogram, patches, etc). Here’s a cool example of clothes hacking. For Valentines day a girl stitched hearts and love notes in her man’s shirt pockets. Hidden to the world, but known to them.

I’m in the process of hacking two sweaters with buttons and thread. More info to come.

I’m inspired by this Driftwood Cheeseboard. For the cost of a soda, a beautiful cheeseboard was created using what would typically be thought of as waste. There’s plenty more ideas for similar projects.

Turning a dumpster into a pool is the hotness. If I could turn one into a resistance pool, I’d buy one. This touches on a recurring theme that I’m sure will get linked to often here: repurposing goods. More specifically, repurposing goods (especially discarded) in a household setting.
