Wanderlust

I just swooned over Gypsy, a big white 2010 Mercedes Benz Sprinter Van.

He had spent the previous two-month’s worth of evenings building out Gypsy from an empty panel van into a super-deluxe road trip machine, complete with recycled-denim insulation, stove, sink, fridge, queen-size bed, benches, folding table, cabinets, cupboards, ceiling fans, heater, cork paneling, bamboo and paperstone counter tops, and interior and exterior LED lighting. Gypsy was rad.

I’ve found my new hobby. It combines my desire for eating tasty food, keeping costs low, and doing something fun while I’m on a roadtrip. I was listening to NPR’s Splendid Table and found out about Manifold Destiny, a book on cooking with your car. I’m ready to try it. I’ve already located a pork tenderloin recipe to try.

My buddy Hunter did a project where he visited 50 states in 2 weeks. Let’s cross-reference that with my previous post on 50 states in 2 weeks.

Who’s down with visiting all 50 states in one-week with me? This looks like a tiring, but amazing trip. Maybe we can promote something. Who’s coming with me? I’m serious, damn it.
