True Linkswear: Ryan Moore’s Golf Shoe of Choice

Friday, June 18th, 2010

It appears that Ryan Moore is wearing golf shoes from True Linkswear. In a trend of his that puts his performance right in line with his earnings, Moore purchased a portion of True Linkswear to promote and wear the brand (one he believes in). The shoes look great. I had been curious about the shoes myself. In fact, when I was at the Memorial a couple of weeks ago, I picked up a pair of the ECCO Street Premier (brown).

I should note here that the other brand Moore has a “deal” with is Scratch Golf. I’ve had a Scratch Golf wedge in my bag for the last 6 years and love it. So, I can deduce that Moore has good taste.

Fred Couples’ Golf Shoes

Friday, April 9th, 2010

During the Masters coverage, I’ve heard Freddy’s shoes called a number of different things: (i) skater shoes, (ii) beach shoes, and (iii) sneakers. I like what he’s wearing and have long complained about the (lack of) comfort of golf shoes (I wear Rod Laver sneakers to play). His shoes look mighty comfy – he’s even wearing them sans socks. I’ve commented on the shoes before (noting that Ryan Moore wears them). For those interested, I’ve compiled a list of shoes similar to those. The more progressive golf shoes, if you will.

Vibram Five Fingers Review

Friday, March 19th, 2010

I’ve had my pair of Vibram Five Fingers for just over 3 months. I’ve only worn them for 2 months though because I spent the first month staring at them wondering if I’d wasted ~$90 on a(nother) piece of athletic training equipment I wouldn’t use.

It’s safe to say that I’m happy I kept these. I wasn’t at first, however. With the weather being less than conducive I found myself on the treadmill testing these out. In the past I’ve always been the guy who prefers running on the treadmill. Not in these shoes.

Since the weather has broken and we’ve had a couple days of Spring-like weather, I’ve taken these shoes out on road and have been enjoying running outside. I look forward to running outside and that’s something I’ve never said before. Additionally, these will be dual purpose for the lake I’ll be frequenting in the Summer.

Just a heads up should you get a pair…People will stop you during your run to comment on your “monkey shoes”.

Ecco Street Premier Golf Shoes

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

I mentioned Ryan Moore the other day, and did a bit more looking into what clothes he’s wearing. I’m so sick of golfers looking like a Nascar. I was pretty interested in figuring out what shoes he wears, and after a bit of research think that he’s wearing these Ecco Street Premier Golf Shoes. I think golf shoes are very uncomfortable and should look more like sneakers; these do. Think I’ll be buying a pair or two.

Brown Leather Longwing Brogue by Mark McNairy x ACL & Co.

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

Are the soles on the Brown Leather Longwing Brogue by Mark McNairy x ACL & Co. orange or red? Description says red, but the picture looks orange. Either way, I think these *could* be the brown brogues I’ve been looking for.

I’m looking for a pair of casual (but not sneaker) shoes for this spring/summer. I’m loving these Toms Ash Canvas Classics. Just need to see how they fit.
