Style is more character than clothes, more attitude than affluence. It’s you making visible your inner self. So forget what you learned about appearance not counting; you can no longer afford to be without style.”
When I’m not wearing blue (shirts), I choose pink.
pink shirts are versatile and easy to match
I aim for a similar style/vibe, just never been period specific.
We have a ’60s West Coast preppy surf vibe.
The only way I am able to get up in the morning is to have a uniform. (How else would I be able to make a decision on what to wear?)
A uniform makes like much easier. Waking up and not obsessing thinking about what you’re wearing is why I wear a blue-ish shirt and grey/khaki pants daily.
Develop your eccentricities while you are young. That way, when you get old, people won’t think you’re going gaga.
Blue and grey is a color combination a guy can seldom go wrong with. Pair a navy sport coat with some well-tailored grey trousers and you’re golden in just about every situation that doesn’t require black tie or tails. You can do blue and grey in so many different ways don’t don’t worry about feeling too repetitive.
I pretty much only wear (navy or baby) blue and grey. It’s easy to match and looks good (on me). I will mix in some brown and pink, but keep those at minimum. Blue and grey are basic, yes. But they are also stylish and work, so why mess with an easy and good thing?

I like to dress well, and these days that involves being frequently overdressed by most peoples standards. It’s very rare that my daily life requires me to wear so much as a dress shirt, let alone a tie or a jacket. But I do it anyway, because I enjoy it and it makes me happy. (…) one might get the impression that I sleep in a tux. It’s far from true. Much of my life is spent in casual clothing doing somewhat messy things (…) Even then I find ways to be comfortable and stylish. (…) Being comfortable and suitably dressed for such situations doesn’t have to mean eternal slovenliness.
Guiseppe speaks the truth on casual clothing. It is absolutely possible to be comfortable and stylish. It just takes a bit of thought and research.
