People. Different people. Not just creative people or hard-working people or noble people. All people. I draw inspiration from everyone I interact with. I even draw from people I observe and never actually meet. The more people I meet the more I feel inspired. And because of that, I travel. I travel a lot. But travel is just a means to meeting more people

He had spent the previous two-month’s worth of evenings building out Gypsy from an empty panel van into a super-deluxe road trip machine, complete with recycled-denim insulation, stove, sink, fridge, queen-size bed, benches, folding table, cabinets, cupboards, ceiling fans, heater, cork paneling, bamboo and paperstone counter tops, and interior and exterior LED lighting. Gypsy was rad.

There’s a new “creative class” in town. Or, more accurately, out of town. Increasingly, young entrepreneurs, activists, and small-business owners are trying to make lives that blend the wildness of the city with the wellness of the country.

I’ve been away from a city for a couple of years now and I don’t miss it like I thought I would. I love to travel and when I travel I go to cities. I need a balance of both urban and rural. I get that now and wouldn’t change a thing.

Munich, a German city that perhaps couldn’t be further from the ocean. And I was shocked. Barefooted Germans in wetsuits carried surfboards past others in suits and ties, and no one batted an eye. The surfers were all headed to Munich’s Englischer Gartens for a ride on one of Europe’s best waves, albeit in a river.
